High School
High school students ride a bus
to Fort Myers to attend district neighborhood or magnet schools, which
specialize in various disciplines, from languages to fine arts. Students
have a choice of schools within their immediate geographical area; a lottery
system is used to decide who attends magnet and other most-requested
schools. Students can also attend a variety of private schools off island.
In the primary and secondary public school system, parents may register a
new student at the school the child will attend. To make an appointment and
learn the requirements to register at The Sanibel School, call (239)
472-1617. For information on school assignments, call the Lee County School
District Boundaries and Reassignment office at (239) 337-8248.
